Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conductsiagnostic testing. Consults with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient. Performs physiotherapy and other treatments and teaches patients to use medications.Reports to: Director Respiratory Care & Neurodiagnostic ServicesMeasures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.

Drag Edit DeleteDisassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.Minimum Education

Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy - Required

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer skills required.

Certifications:

Licenses: Licensed by the State of Tennessee as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with ABG endorsement. Temporary initial licensure letter by the State of Tennessee as a graduate respiratory care practitioner, acceptable, without ABG endorsement, until state licensure is issued.
