Position Summary:Data Science & Machine Learning is one of the key drivers for Deloitte's successful business growth, and we are fully committed to deliver best class products and solution strategies. This position is for a role on HealthPrism™, a solution designed to provide insights about populations who are at an elevated risk for various health conditions. We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist to lead a team of data scientists in building predictive models to achieve technical delivery objectives and address real-world business challenges. The ideal candidate has direct, hands-on experience in predictive modeling using machine learning techniques and has experience leading a team of data scientists in data wrangling, data visualization, statistical analysis and building predictive, machine learning models using supervised, unsupervised and semi-supervised techniques.Work You'll Do

Understand the business use case, conduct preliminary analysis, and propose potential solutions using statistical and predictive modeling techniques to solve clients' problems

Perform feasibility analysis of proposed solutions through data exploration and building proof of concept predictive models

Lead and train a team of data scientists in building advanced analytical and predictive models using large volumes of structured, semi-structured and chaotic data

Conduct research, pull data from disparate data sources and prepare data prior to building models on a variety of use cases

Apply analytical reasoning to solve challenges such as data imbalance, overfitting, etc. to improve model performance

Investigate model outcomes using feature importance, SHAP analysis etc. to interpret models

Update your knowledge base with AI/ML advances

Work in a highly collaborative atmosphere of data scientists and team leaders from various geographic locations

Present model methodology and outcomes to key stakeholders for technical review and feedback

Mentor, motivate and coach junior data scientists on technical best practices and inspire professional development

Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a fundamental understanding of Statistical and Machine Learning algorithms

Strong programming skills in Python and SQL

Strong problem-solving skills with emphasis on predictive modeling at the individual level

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

A passion for leading and supporting career growth for a team of data scientists

5+ years of strong predictive modeling experience using machine learning techniques

2+ years of experience leading a team of data scientists in building predictive models to address challenging business problems

Master's degree or greater in Engineering/Computer Science/Statistics/Mathematics or other quantitative field

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of algorithmic bias and implications

Experience with building and deploying models in any cloud service

PhD in Engineering/Computer Science/Statistics/Mathematics or other quantitative field
