Job SummaryCommunity Health Systems, CHSPSC, LLC is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Informatics Applications Expert for its Franklin, TN headquarters’ Clinical Informatics team. The application expert helps to maintain medication libraries that are consistent with current CHS standards. The application specialist assists in system changes that may be required based on leadership decisions to ensure a safe medication process throughout the healthcare system. The Senior Pharmacy Informatics Applications expert interfaces with information technology, facility and vendor stakeholders to improve safety, efficiency and patient care.Essential Functions
Maintain the Oracle/Cerner EHR system for medication process including but not limited to medication orderables, IV Sets, barcodes, billing codes based on CHS standards to ensure safety and accuracy of the EHR system.
Maintain medication build in additional areas in the Oracle/Cerner system such as SA Anesthesia and RadNet as needed.
Develop educational materials to be used by end users for problem prone workflows or new processes as needed to support a safe and accurate medication process throughout the Oracle/Cerner EHR.
Possess an understanding of the interaction between the EHR Systems and the Automated Dispensing System and support facilities to optimize these systems.
Participation in managing the Pharmacy Informatics ticket queue.
Write queries and/or reports to meet the needs of the pharmacy department, pharmacy informatics, quality, and other departments as needed
Assist in Oracle/Cerner application upgrade and conversion projects to ensure successful transitions to CHS standards.
Assists hospitals, vendors, and other stakeholders in investigating issues and developing, testing, executing, and validating resolutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years or more direct application experience, formal education in any clinical care discipline
At least 3 years of experience as a pharmacy informaticist. Recent Cerner PharmNet, PowerChart, PowerPlan Build Experience
Pharmacy Technician experience, Discern Expert, CCL, MPages, SQL, SSMS knowledge preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
