Staff Accountant, Senior to contribute to our

Accounting team in

LaVergne, TN just outside Nashville. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Finance management in the financial operations of the company, including accounting operations, month end close, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, internal management reporting and analysis, financial controls & compliance, and ad-hoc analysis and reporting. You will also assist leadership with recommendations and policy development. In addition, you’ll perform complex financial analysis and financial reporting for senior management and assist in strategic projects, financial process improvement initiatives, and corporate finance policy implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of relevant accounting experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or recent experience with big ERP (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Excel. Experience with Access, Word and PowerPoint and Macros a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by validating correct accounting treatment (based on US GAAP) and entries, as well as variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts across multiple legal entities and business units.
  • Manages monthly close timetable and corporate reporting checklists and requirements in a timely manner.
  • Manages submission of monthly and quarterly corporate reporting schedules; ensures adherence to any new or ad-hoc corporate reporting requests and deliverables.
  • Partners with FP&A and business partners to provide detailed analysis of expenses and revenues to support reporting and analysis to business units.
  • Performs analysis, reconciliation, and review of key accounts and reporting; identifies and researches unusual activity until resolution.
  • Escalates areas of concern to finance leadership.
  • Ensures compliance in accordance with the financial procedures and policies of the organization.
  • Provides support to corporate treasury by assisting leadership in maintaining cash flow projections.
  • Assists in the integration of financial systems into strategic systems and enhancement of current processes, in compliance with corporate standards.
  • Performs review and analysis of operating statements, comparing actual results to budget and investigating/explaining variances.
  • Partners with operational management to analyze financial results and provide support.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
  • Assists with preparation and provision of information to internal and external auditors for the annual financial audit.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves accounting and operational issues; prepares and reviews various ad hoc reports and analysis as required.
  • Prepares general ledger entries and activity as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial results for month-end.
