If you have a passion for rallying together to solve complex challenges, then come join our dynamic FSO team!The OpportunityA Senior Manager in Tax Technology and Transformation involves strategically leading and managing the implementation of tax technology solutions while overseeing the transformation of tax processes within the client’s organization. You will focus on the development and execution of technology-driven tax strategies that align with and support the client's overall business objectives. A Senior Manager participates in the development and implementation of data analytics, automation technologies for tax functions, digital tax operations, and other technology-driven solutions.Your Key Responsibilities

Improve operational effectiveness in tax functions

Review the process and controls that are in place including technology, looking at effectiveness of the various technology systems.

Increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes, assessing the overall risk to establish a proper control environment.

Designing and building custom tax applications.

Manage large-scale managed services programs and/or tax transformation projects.

Lead Digital tax transformation projects

Lead Tax technology strategy and road mapping

Lead implementation and configuration of Direct and Indirect Tax systems

Work with leadership to run these impactful projects. Successful delivery and execution of the projects is the main function of the position.

Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring they receive excellent quality service and deliverables

Take ownership of the delivery of external projects for clients and internal initiatives for FSO Tax.

Understand key tax processes, technology, data, analytics, and risks/controls to mitigate risk and enhance quality

Excellent communication and business writing skills

A natural flair for problem solving

Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving consulting skills

Skills and attributes for success

Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and monitoring them until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging, project profitability, and tax systems and process configuration

Identifying ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies

Understanding of conducting dependency analyses across an integrated work plan containing multiple work streams or projects

Embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, PAM, Investran)

Developing test cases and debugging code in existing systems

Producing clean, efficient code based on specifications

To Qualify

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Economics and/or a master’s degree in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science or related field

A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience or a master’s degree and approximately two to three years of relevant work experience

You are required to have one of the following certifications: CPA, JD, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or Project Management Professional “PMP”; master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering

Exposure to the financial services industry, accounting/finance/tax, tax or finance performance improvement, tax software development and/or implementation

Ideally you will also have

Experience in project management

Strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to coordinate with functions outside of Tax

Demonstrated proactive ability to team with and motivate others and a willingness to develop meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues

Knowledge in implementing tax technology solutions (e.g., CorpTax, ONESOURCE, Sabrix, Vertex, SharePoint, PFI, RPA software)

Developing and implementing custom applications (e.g., Visual Studio, VBA/VSTO, SQL Server, MS PowerBI Suite)

Experience using MS Project and/or other project management tools

ERP experience, including SAP and/or Oracle

SharePoint development

Must have demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a team, provide feedback contribute to the growth of teams onshore/offshore along with managing quality of deliverables from offshore teams (as needed) to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirements.What we offerWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $132,000 to $301,500. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $158,400 to $342,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
