Description: Job Summary: The role of Technical Writer will be responsible for writing, rewriting, and/or editing technical documents, such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. The Technical Writer, Entry Level is a support individual working under direct supervision and guidance, impacting the overall results of the team and business.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Attend and participate in all Software Design Life Cycle meetings and/or events with assigned programs team, as needed

Create and maintain documentation for assigned programs team, as required by active release efforts and associated deadlines

Produce user manuals, workbooks, reference guides, and release notes

Maintain a record of all corrections and revisions to documentation

Type text, insert pictures, format, edit, save, retrieve, and print documentation

Paginate/repaginate documentation as necessary

May be required to assist other technical writers with other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by the Systems Engineering Manager

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to use multiple desktop publishing and still-image editing programs

Highly proficient written/verbal communication and presentation skills

Highly proficient grammatical skills

Ability to implement in-line changes

Ability to track changes in documentation

Basic pagination skills

Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and assignments

Ability to implement suggestions and edits from peers and Manager, as needed

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent, with 0 -3 years prior related experience

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:

Bachelors or Associates Degree in a relevant field, such as English, Technical Writing, or Technical Communications

Experience with Agile SCRUM process preferred

Physical Demands:

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other associated equipment

Required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

Infrequent light physical effort required

Written and verbal communication

Personal Protective Equipment:

As required by program needs

Work Environment:

Work performed in an office environment with people working in close proximity to one other
