Job Description: The scope of the Facilities Technician will be primarily for nights and weekends coverage at our two core data centers (Nashville & Memphis). This is an on-premises job only and cannot be a remote position. Job Responsibilities: Daily activities: Walk through & visual inspections of all rack mounted equipment (Cisco, Dell, EMC, etc.), and critical fixed asset monitoring panels (generator, UPS, Leak detect, and Fire alarm panels), shift handover & email status report, alert monitoring for any amber/red alerts, open a ticket with respective tower etc. Performs and/or completes all service requests accurately and expediently. Complies with all policies and procedures established for the building and performs all work using the proper safety equipment and in a safe manner. Access Arrangement: Work with CHC badge management team to ensure and arrange IT silos data center access as, and whenever required. Acts as the "first contact" technician to address notifications nights and weekends Actively participates in emergency response procedures, maintaining existing Critical, dispatch and in-house Data Centers. Key responsible for any customer/vendor request as well escalations. Assists other team members with racking and de-racking of servers, cabling, and wiring of other equipment as needed, must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Obtain and collect all data necessary for management/operation report, including capacity management, forecasts, vendor coordination, H/W Inventory, tape management and available resources, shift planning to cover 24X7 support for 2 main Data Centers, co-ordinate with IT Business Management to update Asset records etc. Data Center Power-down & Annual Maintenance Management: Coordination with different vendors, different building /property management and all IT silos for power down or annual schedule maintenance events. Work with CHC Management and open Change request for all Data center power down, annual maintenance, facility maintenance etc., join CCB call to get it approved, send meeting invites to all participants and work closely with all teams to complete the task successfully. Smart hands services: assist IT silos to perform reboot, hardware failure trouble shooting, escort vendors, escort vendors, work closely with facility team and IT Ops team for any scheduled maintenance/upgrade /project work and adhere ITIL process etc. For all dispatch sites (57): Open a dispatch tech request with our vendor and provide him access and perform the task as per requested. Cross check and provide approval for all dispatch tech visit billing as per agreement Requirements: High school diploma or GED 5 years of relevant experience with, or knowledge of critical fixed assets: power systems, electrical and mechanical equipment including generators, critical and essential PDU's, UPS, switchgear, Air handling units, Computer grade cooling systems, Chillers, CRAC / CRAH Units, DC Power Systems, and building monitoring/control systems) Data Center Operations Experience Knowledge and operation of building automation, water treatment and fire life safety systems Strong customer service orientation, with good interpersonal skills and a positive team attitude, reliable. Familiarity with computers and operations and office automation applications, including Microsoft Office.
