The Lab Technician performs a variety of chemical, biological, and physical tests required for research, development or quality control. This position compiles data for
reports and assists in special studies in the laboratory and in the field. In addition, the role will operate and maintain sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in an industrial facility to purify water to meet customer specifications.Primary Duties/responsibilities:1. Prepare samples for analysis;
2. Adequately complete laboratory documentation;
3. Perform equipment maintenance according to established procedures;
4. Monitor non-standard results with the coordinator;
5. Perform various maintenance tasks in the laboratory (eg work areas);
6. Perform any other tasks deemed compatible with its function, when required by the department head.In addition:Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
