Roads and Grounds, Operator We're looking for a Roads and Grounds, Operator to join our multidisciplinary team at the New Stanton hospital in Yellowknife, NWT!The principal responsibilities of the Roads and Grounds Operator in this position is to participate as a member of the FM Department team, performing skilled maintenance/repair and related duties. The Roads and Grounds Operator is responsible for carrying out snow removal, grounds landscaping, laundry delivery, refueling repair of snow removal equipment throughout the hospital and grounds. The successful individual will contribute to the operations and projects of the hospital by ensuring safety in all practices and following procedures. You will also carry out in accordance with all territorial, municipal codes and department and hospital policies.You have customer service, and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to problem solve and think critically. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients, and families.Other Details:This position works 40 hours per week with possible weekends, and on-call as requested by Manager.This role requires someone with a specific knowledge and experience of Equipment Operating (skid steer, loader), with generalized knowledge and experience in small engine operation and repair. Other trades/tickets or certifications are always a plus.This position is outdoor; snow gear will be provided but ability to work in cold temperaturesAbility to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of timeAbility to use hands and fingers to handle feel or operate objects, tools or controlsAbility to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasksAbility to lift 45 pounds of weight throughout assigned workdayRepresent the department with a positive and professional attitude.Completes assigned tasks in a professional manner and closes the work orders within required timeframe as per Response Time policy.Communicate the work status with the client groups via Computerized MaintenanceManagement system (CMMS) within the time frame given in Response Time policy.Adhere to and promote the Occupational Health and Safety legislative and corporate requirements.Keep and maintain records as required.Participate in educational programs and In-Service training.What we're looking for:A Great Attitude!Valid drivers licenseEquipment Operating experience (Loader, Skid Steer, Plow Truck)3-5+ years' experience in a similar position (ideally in a healthcare setting).Solid communications ability (verbal and written).Basic computer proficiency, MS Office, etc.Knowledge of building maintenance, and safety systemsOn-call availability for support as required.A background Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.What is also nice to have:Possess a trade ticket.Healthcare and/or Hospital experienceAdditional Company InformationAs an employer of choice, we treat all of our employees consistently and fairly to help you achieve personal and professional ambitions.We strive to meet the accommodation needs of persons with disabilities and encourage allApplicants to make their accommodation needs known in advance during the applicationprocess.We thank all applicants for your interest and will contact only those selected forinterview.
