Job Description

We are looking for a Shipping Territory Manager who will be responsible for managing an existing portfolio of customers and identifying and engaging with new customers.

Your customers will predominantly be located in the grain, passenger vehicle and international shipping markets. Based in Port Melbourne.

This position will contribute to the maintenance and growth of revenue for Shipping by working closely with existing customers to achieve organic growth and effectively onboarding new customers through market knowledge, research and networking.

You will need a passion for customer service and sales whilst driving success through varying channels.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparation of sales plan to illustrate where new business/growth will be acquired to meet Territory Budget
  • Undertake commercial responsibility for all accounts within your portfolio and escalate to key stakeholders’ areas for improvement or risk
  • Build and maintain a Sales Pipeline to achieve Territory Budget and the Territory Sales Plan Objectives
  • Implement and maintain a regular call plan with customers and ensure face to face meetings are conducted to build strong customer relationships
  • Identify opportunities and establishing development plans to increase the share of wallet on existing and future customers.
  • Develop and provide internal and external reports in a timely, meaningful and accurate manner to meet the expectations of customers and the business
  • Contribute to the review existing practices and procedures to promote continuous improvement across the business

Qualifications

Key requirements include:

  • Account Management and strategic selling
  • Ability to develop / maintain strong relationships and generate business with new & existing customers
  • Identifying customer’s needs/requirements and deliver solutions accordingly
  • Providing exceptional customer service whilst cross-selling / up-selling effectively

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong verbal & written skills, communication is an essential part of the role
  • Previous experience in a similar role / industry would be highly advantageous although not essential
  • Great attitude and a ‘can do’ mindset, highly motivated to achieve
  • Motivated and driven to achieve success
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Safety & compliance knowledge
