Description A highly reputed piping company in downtown Houston, working in partnership with Robert Half, is currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. The suitable candidate will work closely with different departments to help streamline office operations and reduce workload pressure.Responsibility in this role includes:
Ensuring comprehensive coverage of our property insurance including liability and workers comp
Procuring quotes and filling out applications for all insurance needs
Managing the company's financials including journal entries and bank reconciliations
Preparing detailed excel spreadsheets and maintaining a working knowledge of Quickbooks or similar systems
Coordinating medical insurance renewals and discussing large claims with our medical insurance agent
Preparing quarterly and annual reports such as Form 941, Form 940, sales tax, and 401K payroll reports
Taking on the administrator's role for company benefits which includes life and dental insurance, among others.
Requirements
Exceptional detail-oriented skills are mandatory for this position
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and ability to prepare journal entries
Proficiency in excel, Quickbooks or similar software, and general excellent technology skills
Able to work independently but also confident in asking questions when required
Knowledge in account and bank reconciliations
Excellent multitasking skills and able to work in a team
While a degree is not mandatory, a stable work record and solid references are crucial
Familiarity with medical insurance renewals
Previous experience as an administrator, specifically in benefits, would be beneficial
Experience in preparing payroll and handling 401k plans
