SUMMARYThe primary purpose of the position is to provide accounting, financial, grant, contract, and budget support to the Department. Functions are performed in compliance with the department, division, and institutional policies and procedures. Job functions are performed using electronic as well a paper-based systems.Directly impacts the expense processes within the department. Develops, implements, and monitors business processes to ensure all department expenses are appropriately tracked and documented. Maintains spreadsheets for review and confirmation for all fund sources including personnel expenses. Initiates grant and sponsor funding award set up to include chart field strings and accounts. Maintains accurate and detailed financial data on all funds including grants, sponsors, donors, and PRS funds. Conducts final closeout reconciliation for all funds including grants, sponsors, and donors. Maintains PRS spreadsheet for faculty development funds and Chairman Funds. Conducts reconciliation of PRS Development Funds and Chairman Funds. Will work with Department Administrator on annual budget for expenses.K EY FUNCTIONS

Manages financial/reconciliation activity of all department accounts

a. Reviews/validates and/or performs reconciliation of department funds, financial activities, and account balance transfers as well as corrective actionsb. Establish new chart field strings, updates signature authorization and initiates new accounts as necessaryc. Assists with the preparation of department budget andd. Verifies availability of funds on designated department accounts on purchased/travel actions

Oversees PRS report to Physicians Referral Service and distributes on a monthly basis to AA for review/verification of expenses and current balance

Advises faculty/PI regarding status of accounts/grants and provides analysis of available funding for personnel salaries and project expenses. Initiates JDUF action on changes for source of funds if necessary

Provides to the Department Chair/PI/DA a monthly account balance report

Other financial documents and records as required

EDUCATIONRequired: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related.Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.EXPERIENCERequired: One year of experience required with degree in Business Administration or related field. With a degree in Accounting, no experience is required.
