Description We are looking to bring on board an experienced Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas. The selected individual will join our team, tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, liaising with external auditors, tax preparers, bank field examiners, and inventory appraisers, and assisting with various accounting projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of our financial operations.Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reporting packages. Ensure a robust control environment over financial transactions, including cash flows, payroll, and inventory transactions. Manage organizational cash flows and forecasting, including the preparation of a weekly cash forecast model. Maintain the company's chart of accounts for appropriate segregation and identification of operating expenses and costs. Support the transition of the company's ERP system from Sage's MAS 500 to Sage X3, evaluating ERP capabilities and IT infrastructure to meet management objectives. Lead and develop accounting support staff, collaborating with HR on areas such as payroll processing, annual benefit plan renewals, and insurance premium audits. Oversee the company's vehicle fleet and assist with annual renewals of employee benefits and corporate insurance programs. Liaise with external auditors, tax preparers, bank field examiners, inventory appraisers, and treasury/lending contacts. Manage all property/sales tax filings, 1099 and 1042 preparation, and required ACA reporting. Assist with the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts as requested. Undertake ad hoc projects as requested by the leadership team.
