Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, Texas. The role primarily revolves around the management and processing of customer applications, maintenance of customer records, and handling customer inquiries within the industry. The workplace is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will be handling the front desk and engaging with visitors while managing essential office tasks.Responsibilities Manage the reception desk, greeting and directing visitors as necessary Handle office phone calls, ensuring all inquiries are addressed in a timely manner Perform filing and other administrative tasks to ensure smooth operation of the office Utilize QuickBooks Online for accounts payable functions and purchase order management Carry out 3-way matching and reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records Utilize Excel for various tasks, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the software Undertake other projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team Assist with the organization of office meetings, including ordering lunch when necessary. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar Proficiency in Quickbooks Online is essential Demonstrated experience in Account Coding Proven ability to perform Accounting Functions, particularly in relation to Accounts Payable (AP) Experience in performing Reconciliations Familiarity with 3 Way Matching in an accounts payable context Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
