Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are actively searching for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team located in San Antonio, Texas. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, including processing payments, ensuring proper authorizations and classifications, maintaining vendor tax status records, and assisting with month-end processes. This role is a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle incoming payment requests through various channels such as mail, email, fax, and online portal log-in Ensure the proper approval and classification of all payment requests, and follow-up with departments as necessary Accurately and promptly enter approved payment requests into the accounts payable system for scheduled payment Prepare processed payment requests for scanning, create and review an imaging export file for document indexing Assist vendors and internal customers with inquiries regarding payments Update vendor tax status records by requesting W-9 and updating the accounts payable system records Ensure all payment requests are effective dated in the correct period during month-end processes Assist the Accounting Manager with posting miscellaneous financial information as needed Perform monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts as assigned Ensure proper approval, classification, and documentation of expenditures when processing electronic expense reports. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role as an Accounts Payable Specialist Proficiency in Account Coding Experience with Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services Knowledge of Concur software Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Ability to perform various Accounting Functions Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) Knowledge of Accrual Accounting Experience in Auditing Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
