Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, Texas. As an integral part of our manufacturing team, you will be tasked with maintaining and compiling accounts payable records, processing various types of payments, and facilitating inquiries from various sources.Responsibilities: Accurately process electronic and hard-copy vendor invoices for import into the Accounts Payable workflow process Utilize Kofax Capture software for validating and inputting invoice data Conduct basic and intermediate research functions within SAP software and electronic Accounts Payable workflow software (VIM) Handle a variety of Accounts Payable functions including support for the 1099 function, vendor maintenance requirements, and processing invoices outside of VIM Manage all payment related functions (Check, ACH, Wire) including the voiding of checks in SAP Maintain and file all relevant accounts payable documents and reports Assist in monthly closings as needed and adhere to company DOA (delegation of authority) Comply with all company policies and procedures Occasionally perform tasks in the operating units, requiring usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. Facilitate and research AP inquiries from plant locations and outside vendors Requirements Proficient in Account Coding, with the ability to accurately classify and record transactions. Demonstrated expertise in using Accounting Software Systems, ensuring efficient and accurate financial management. Solid understanding of Accounting Functions, with the capacity to manage various accounting tasks and responsibilities. Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP), including processing invoices and managing payments. Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments, ensuring smooth and secure financial transactions. Proficiency in using SAP for managing financial transactions and vendor accounts. Strong skills in Vendor Management, including maintaining relationships and negotiating contracts.
