Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare cash receipts for posting, post to appropriate invoices and general ledger codes, and balance cash receipts postings to daily bank deposit documents.

Involves posting all cash for multiple companies and bank accounts.

Post cash to two accounting systems. Intercompany accounting is used to ensure all cash is booked and recorded to all companies.

Keep proper records of all cash activity using multiple reports for both accounting systems.

Enter and log journal entry adjustments.

Assist with accounting management and divisions on collection of past due accounts.

Researching customer accounts.

Provide customer account and deposit details as requested by divisions.

Contact customers when needed to support collection duties.

Research and reconcile all customer accounts for outstanding unapplied payments and out of balances.

Act as liaison between customers and company divisions.

Prepare miscellaneous cash for accounting daily.

Prepare and file other credit reports as requested (Credit References, AR Statements, and W-9 preparation for example).

Assist credit supervisor with month end balancing of cash, prepare journal entries walk forward reports.

Archive AR records and retrieve as necessary.

Manage scanning of all department documents through company’s document retention system.

Scan/Archive accounting department records in addition to all AR documents.

Assist with sales tax filings each month.

Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Assist with keeping sales exemption certificates for non-taxable customers filed, and up to date.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent. College hours a plus.

Minimum of one-year accounts receivable experience.

Knowledge of basic accounting principles desired.

Good computer skills as well as good mathematical reasoning.

Good communication skills, verbal and written.

Detail oriented.

Well organized.
