Grow. with us.Who we’re looking forToyota’s Material Quality Chemical Section is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Anti-Corrosion Engineer.The primary responsibility of this role is to protect our customers and the Toyota/Lexus brand by: (1) Ensuring the highest quality chemical raw materials (fluids, lubricants, pretreatment, electro-coat, sealers, and adhesives) are utilized in our NAP vehicles. (2) Ensuring quality assurance activities for anti-corrosion materials and manufacturing processes used in producing NA Toyota/Lexus vehicles. You will accomplish this through collaboration with your counterparts in Production Engineering, Material Design, and NAMC Quality Engineering among other others.Reporting to the Anti-Corrosion Manager, the person in this role will support the Material Quality Chemical Section’s objective to ensure the highest quality chemical materials are utilized in our NA vehicles, prevent quality issues and quickly resolve quality concerns.What you’ll be doingExamples of key activities include:

Lead/support new material introduction activities including trials and inspection standard development.

Conduct internal audit activities at NAMCs to confirm quality requirements are being met.

Conduct on-site audits at suppliers to identify gaps in their readiness for mass production.

Lead/support supplier development activities, initiatives, and new supplier evaluation.

Lead/support quality assurance activities for anti-corrosion for pre-production and mass production (includes supplier process audits and part evaluations).

Provide technical support and expertise to related stakeholders (NAMCs, PE, PUR, etc).

Lead problem-solving activities for chemical raw material-related quality issues and anti-corrosion quality assurance issues.

Lead root cause analysis for chemical and/or anti-corrosion-related field issues.

Provide new model coordination and leadership for MQC section.

What you bring – (Minimum Requirements)

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent professional experience

Manufacturing or Engineering experience with chemical raw materials and/or quality assurance activities

Manufacturing quality problem-solving experience including usage of the 7 QC tools (Parado, SPC, etc.)

Manufacturing and/or quality system audit experience

Cross-functional team or group leadership and collaboration experience

What you may bring / Added bonus if you have - (Preferences/Assets)

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science

Manufacturing or Engineering experience with anti-corrosion materials or processes

Manufacturing or Engineering experience with any of the following chemical materials: automotive fluids/lubricants, /pretreatment/electro-coat/sealers/adhesives

Practical, hands-on experience testing materials and/or parts in a laboratory setting

Experience with data analytics, data automation, and data visualization (example: experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform – PowerBI, Power Automate, etc)

Experience with chemical materials related to Electric Vehicles, Hybrid Vehicles or EV/HV batteries
