Job Description: The Application Engineer (AE) sees it all-design, manufacture, installation, and operation of our RedRaven IOT products at our customers' sites in a variety of industries. Operational support of the Flowserve FEDD Wireless production facility which is responsible for the design, assembly, and test of Flowserve's RedRaven IOT devices. The Application Engineer is accountable for technical review, execution, maintenance, and customer support of the full IOT product portfolio. The Application Engineer is actively engaged in troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions at the main production facility, on-site at the customer facility, and at our global repair centers. Adherence to standard procedures, timely review and completion of proposal deliverables, and effective cross-functional teamwork within Flowserve.

Requirements
  • Provide technical support and recommendations for the selection, manufacturing, and application of Flowserve IOT products.
  • Responsible for translating IOT proposals into job specific infrastructure plans including drawings and bills of materials.
  • Support operations, engineering, quality, and other customers as necessary to meet their objectives and to achieve on-time delivery (OTD) goals.
  • Prepare technical reports of appropriate depth and detail to document product design development, product failure analysis, and laboratory and field-testing programs.
  • Participate in interdepartmental activities to ensure that concurrent engineering techniques and best practice processes are effectively implemented throughout the engineering group.
  • Review of design for manufacturability and design cost issues.
  • Support standardization and continuous improvement of product and process.
  • Must be a team player, able to problem-solve and work constructively with customers and co-workers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Some physical activity required (e.g., light lifting, walking large customer sites, and ascending/descending ladders and staircases in multi-story facilities).
  • Communicate the needs of customers to Flowserve and be the customers' primary source of information regarding design, application, installation, operation, and maintenance of our IOT technology.
  • Act as liaison between customers and Flowserve's sales engineers, reliability engineers, customer service, and manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems at our customer sites and in-house at our Flowserve Quick Response Repair Center.
  • Complete projects requiring both hands-on and mathematical approaches such as failure analysis reports, product performance reports, and engineering analyses.
  • Evaluate reports and data to support recommendations for improvement, replacement, or repair of equipment.
  • Help organize and ensure monthly meetings to maintain visibility to track RAIL items
  • Provide technical guidance about successful installation and operation of our products, ensuring that standardized installation procedures are followed.
  • Maintain data regarding customer equipment and parts inventories, responding with appropriate actions regarding inventory reduction and consolidation.
  • Maintain data in engineering systems; process engineering change notices; submit corrective action reports; and maintain current, accurate, organized files.
  • Help conduct technical training as needed for our suppliers and customers. Able to work after hours in emergency situations
Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of technical experience in customer support and/or troubleshooting of industrial equipment/technology
  • 5+ years in-plant operations experience.
  • 2+ years of working knowledge of industrial rotating equipment (pumps, seals, valves)
  • A good understanding of business financials and operations acumen
  • Experience with instrumentation and/or monitoring
  • Clear written and verbal communication style; to be a professional face of Flowserve to our customer
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high sense of urgency with a customer-focused mindset to execute
  • Ability to produce professional reports and presentations in keeping with company policies & objectives
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, Solidworks, Windchill (PLM) experience
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Up to 25% travel (domestic and international)
