Job Duties:

Manual software application testing - Independent verification and validation of the products produced by the BNSF and external vendor’s development process; design and develop complex functional and non-functional tests; and perform many of the roles required for a software testing project:• Use expertise and experience in

software application test planning

, test case writing, and test execution, to investigate complex software applications and define and execute test scenarios and test cases.• Use expertise in the

HP

/Microfocus ALM tool for generating and tracking test cases, test executions, and defect reporting.• Use expertise in defect triaging and tracking defects throughout the defect lifecycle and perform root cause analysis for leaked defects.

Automated software application testing

–• Independent review of application test scenarios and test cases, and the design and development of automated test cases using the

HP

/Microfocus QTP/UFT toolsets:• Use experience working across multiple application platforms to evaluate existing and new

software test scenarios and test cases across a variety of application platforms including mainframe, MS-Windows, and web browser applications.• Use experience in designing

HP/Microfocus test automation frameworks, incorporating descriptive and object repository methods, and designing custom solutions for new application areas.• Use experience in developing

automated test cases using

HP/Microfocus UFT tool suite to develop custom system integration test cases across multiple applications.• Develop and execute automated toolsets for test data creation, and perform automated smoke testing and regression testing after each development release.• Triage and logging of software defects identified during

automated testing

Automated software application testing team lead –Act as a

test automation lead with technical delivery ownership, and provide work direction and peer reviews for onshore and offshore team members:• Provide technical guidance to the onshore and offshore teams on testing requirements and

test scenarios

and test cases.• Peer reviews of automation code developed by other team members to adhere to the framework and global industry standards.• Leading onshore / offshore email and conference call communications.• Leading customer demonstrations of

automated solutions.• Training and transition of

automated solutions to customer team members.
