Overall Position Summary and Objectives:• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in an interactive lab environment, contributing to collaborative projects• Develop products and documents related to research plans• Participate in the development of laboratory procedures• Coordinate with team to define experiments, achieve objectives and execute experiments• Process rodent tissue samples for molecular biology analysis (protein, mRNA and DNA extraction)• Perform imaging using fluorescence microscopy and associated imaging analysis• Perform molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning• Conduct a range of biochemical assays including ELISA, reporter assays, Western blotting, and qPCR• Grow and maintain mammalian cell cultures utilizing sterile techniques, including transfection of plasmids to create transient or stable cell lines• Knowledge of preparation of samples for microCT analysis• Help prepare presentations to summarize procedures, study results, and data interpretation (as needed) to present to leads according to established written procedures and accepted practices.• Arrange and perform assays involving a multi-mode plate reader with live cells• Deliver high quality results in an accurate and time sensitive manner

Minimum Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.• 1-2 years relevant laboratory experience in academic or industrial setting.• Experience with the following molecular biology techniques:o Standard cloning techniques, vector design, DNA and RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, ligation, restriction digestion, and qPCR. o Mammalian cell culture and transfection techniques. o Basic protein characterization skills (SDS-PAGE, Western blot, BCA, ELISA). o Handling animal tissue and blood samples.• Must be a highly motivated, well organized, and independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills, and great attention to detail.• Must be comfortable working in a highly innovative and fast-pace environment and have a strong ability to cope with change.• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
