Description A client of ours is in search of a bookkeeper to join their team based in Houston, Texas. This role presents a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a bookkeeper, your main duties will revolve around maintaining financial records, processing payroll, conducting bank and credit card reconciliations, and managing taxes. You will also be expected to handle data entry tasks and ensure month-end close processes are conducted in a timely manner.Responsibilities include: Conducting bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records Processing payroll for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment Managing and updating the general ledger to keep track of all financial transactions Handling data entry tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate records Ensuring month-end close processes are carried out accurately and on time Managing sales tax and payroll tax to comply with legal requirements Assisting in the preparation of financial reports Utilizing QuickBooks Desktop for various accounting tasks Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action when necessary Processing customer credit applications accurately and efficientlyRequirements Proficient in Account Reconciliation Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations Comprehensive knowledge in Bookkeeping Proficient in Data Entry tasks Strong skills in Microsoft Excel Familiarity with Month End Close procedures Experience in handling Payroll operations Proficiency in using QuickBooks software Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
