Business Analyst Duration: 12m contract to hire Location: Irving, TX/need folks local to Dallas who are comfortable working in a hybrid model-there will be an onsite interview Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Business Analyst to be part of a Scrum team. Together with a Product Owner and the team, the Business Analyst will drive user value to line-of-business applications as part of a continual digital transformation. Essential Job Functions Analyze broadly defined ideas from Product Owner and help decompose them into epics/features Champion product improvements from concept through implementation into ongoing maintenance Elicit and write user stories that are clear, concise and that articulate user value Facilitate and assist with backlog refinement activities as needed by the Product Owner Identify and help rationalize potential integration needs of related applications Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives Engage with business users alongside Product Owner and team members to gather feedback Assist with input and review of training content and release notes as needed Provide input to test planning, and to pre- and post-release bug troubleshooting NOTE: Because positions may evolve due to the needs of the business, this job description may not list all essential functions and is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of all required activities, duties, or responsibilities. Qualifications Wholesale distribution and/or sales and accounting knowledge is mandatory Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience 5+ years in similar role 3+ years' experience eliciting and writing user stories Strong understanding of Scrum framework, with history of working in high-performing, self-organized and collaborative Scrum teams Proven ability to understand and create process flow diagrams, wireframes and other visual artifacts Use of ALM and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence, Jira, Rally, etc. Proficient with MS Windows, Office, Project, and Visio (or similar flowchart/diagramming tool) Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to conduct independent research Ability to self-teach and learn via on-the-job training Scrum certification (CSM, CSPO, CSP, or similar) and business analysis certification preferred Competencies Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Results oriented Collaborative Facilitative Situationally aware Enthusiastic Continually improving Transparent Quick learner with ability to grasp concepts of new applications Recognizes and rapidly solves problems Connects big picture to specific implementation tasks and activities Draws out information from others effectively
