If so, this role might be ideal for you.We are seeking an experienced Consumption Architect for the largest Customer Success (CSU) team in the world to develop, deliver, and execute consumption strategy for the Azure Apps and Infrastructure solution area. This is a strategic, field-facing role that is accountable for strategy, execution, and readiness activities driven by the global CSA organization.ResponsibilitiesConsumption Architects partner closely with Field, Azure Solutions Business, Specialists, Customer Engineers, Customer Success Account Managers, other stakeholders including senior leaders in the Product Group (Engineering), Business Group (BG), One Commercial Partner team (Partner), Finance, our Enterprise business units to shape and execute Azure infrastructure consumption strategy. Consumption Architects should demonstrate the following capabilities:Business acumen and technical platform depth: Build confidence and trust with corporate, field, and engineering teams, uniting groups across Microsoft to ensure that we unblock complex business and technical issues for customers using Azure by resolving customer blockers. As the consumption architect for your workload, you will partner with technical stakeholders to lead playbook development, including competitive and ecosystem positioning, as well as customer value propositions & objections.

Consumption strategy development and execution: Design consumption strategies that benefit our customers and galvanize our CSU community, including the CSA, Customer Engineer, and Customer Success Account Manager roles, using a customer engagement model that drives Azure growth.

Customer success and consumption leadership: Extract and share Azure service consumption insights that CSU and cross-organizational stakeholders can leverage to accelerate Azure growth and scale engagement.

Community advocacy & change management: Unite and inspire the Azure community through creative engagement approaches that leverage open knowledge exchanges and best practices sharing. Using these communities to scale, you will co-develop strategies and landing models to reinforce existing andintroduce new program concepts for your workload.

Field readiness & Immersion: Ensure successful rollouts across the world to help land CSU initiatives with cross-organizational launch plans. Service as voice of field, customer, and partner by establishing field relationships and ongoing engagement to formalize connection channels, listening systems, escalation management, and field council.

Closed Feedback Loop: Facilitate and deliver closed feedback loop with key executive sponsors, field leadership, and cross-organizational partners including Engineering, Product Marketing, WW Customer Success, OCP and Services.

Operational Excellence: Run the monthly/quarterly RoB and workload scrums, gather and reporting consumption patterns and insights to all workload stakeholders, including field leadership team through a regular MBR cadence.

QualificationsTechnical / Role DepthExpert knowledge of trends & patterns of core Azure infrastructure, especially as it relates to how our customers adopt these technologies and evolve.

Strong understanding of common cloud infrastructure workload scenarios (i.e. Windows and Linux IaaS, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, containers and Infra)

Experience in migration or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud. A basic understanding of specialized workloads such as SAP, VMWare, and Virtual Desktop is desirable.

Exposure and experience in designing and implementing cloud best practices (e.g. deployment, architecting, provisioning, devops and optimization.)

Deep experience in cloud economics and executing field strategy. You will own the end-to-end planning and strategy for the CSU delivery of the Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework assessments.

Influencer who can get things done. You will be able to separate what's important from what's urgent and find the path forward from among multiple scenarios, earn trust from collaborators, and thrive on ambiguity to deliver business outcomes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations and demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

Very strong business analysis skills required to identify trends and patterns. A significant portion of this role relies on your ability to ask the questions needed to glean insights from raw consumption and pipeline data. Desired skills for this role include:

5+ years of experience in cloud implementations, mass migrations, cloud infrastructure technologies and architecture.

8+ years of experience in sales or consulting in the enterprise segment, working directly with large customers.

5+ years of Program, Project, or Product Management.

Experience of designing, building, and executing highly successful global programs and strategy at scale.

Hands-on use of Azure Services in distributed environments.

Be familiar with corporate enabling teams, field constructs and roles.

Strong exec communications and presence. Know how and when to summarize and escalate issues.

Self-directed, team player: if I don’t know how to get something done, I’ll find someone at Microsoft that does.

Highly adaptable, and strong collaborator, fierce advocate, and influencer.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MS / MBA preferred.
