Description We are offering a role in the Manufacturing industry located in Austin, Texas, 78727, United States for a detail-oriented Buyer. The role requires a keen understanding of buying processes, ERP systems, and strong customer service skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and creating purchase orders, ensuring all processes align with approved procedures, and providing procurement support for indirect materials and services.Responsibilities: Collaboratively manage the scope of work and actions with the Indirect Procurement lead Create and monitor purchase orders on a daily basis for Indirect spend Ensure all processes are conducted in accordance with approved procedures Provide procurement support to ensure the availability of required indirect materials and services Work closely with various functions such as Facilities, IT, Marketing, and Manufacturing to resolve issues for current sourced solutions Support supply agreement negotiations and resolve issues on pricing and sourcing with management Seek out cost reduction through negotiation, competitive bidding, and market knowledge Develop and maintain knowledge of suppliers and their capabilities including key personnel, product details, production processes, order handling, internal systems, and shipping capabilities Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system (Oracle) and purchase materials in the most economical size, composition, quality, quantity, and combination Expedite materials as required and handle rejections or other problems on purchased materials Monitor supplier performance metrics Identify and implement process efficiencies and process improvements for the organization Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in a Buyer role within the Manufacturing industry Demonstrated proficiency with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions Familiarity with IBM AS/400 platform Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suites Experience with the 'About Time' software will be considered an advantage Knowledge of Buying Processes and Component Selection Exceptional Customer Service skills Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment is required Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and negotiation skills High attention to detail and accuracy in work Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Proven record of maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
