Description We are seeking a Buyer to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role requires coordination of purchasing activities related to assigned areas/items of responsibility, including inventory and non-inventory related materials. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimum product quality, service, and pricing for the company. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Confer with vendors and other related sources to obtain optimum product quality, service, and pricing for the company. Prepare requests for quotations, analyze, and select vendors in association with the Purchasing Manager. Initiate purchases of assigned items, including creating purchase orders, in a timely fashion to maintain adequate inventory stocking levels. Expedite and de-expedite purchases as necessary to support requirements and inventory levels, utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Communicate information timely to all suppliers. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods/services/paperwork with appropriate personnel, and participate in course of corrective action. Maintain appropriate procurement related records, including vendor information, receiving documentation, and other pertinent information. Keep the ERP database current and accurate. Perform other related duties as required, including special projects. Support Sales and Customer Service Department Call Centers for overflow inbound calls as needed. Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors. Utilize skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and development, and integrated database systems. Requirements Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems Familiarity with Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP) Understanding of Buying Processes Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Experience in creating and generating Purchase Orders Knowledge of Power Purchase Agreements and Purchase Price Allocation Ability to negotiate pricing and terms effectively Proven experience in Contract Negotiation Understanding of Purchase Price Variance Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with various departments Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically High level of organization and ability to prioritize tasks Experience with relevant software and tools Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
