AWS Cloud Solution Engineer - Contract to Hire - Hybrid in The Woodlands TX Job Summary: Company is seeking a Sr. Software Platform Application Engineer to lead DevOps and platform development. This role will report to the CTO and work alongside the Business Intelligence team. The Business Intelligence team currently retrieves, organizes, analyzes and reports on market and client data to help clients and management make informed decisions. This team is embarking on an exciting opportunity to expand on these current services to provide a more comprehensive solution for customers. Successful candidates will work well in a small collaborative team, be eager to learn the business, brainstorm collaboratively and be able to suggest methods to deliver these ideas. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, capable of performing DevOps, leading the platform development and taking on the SCRUM role. Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains cloud-based infrastructure using AWS
  • Monitors for errors or issues with the platform
  • Develops and maintains ETL and data pipelines
  • Maintains Kubernetes cluster using EKS
  • Maintains automated data feeds for clients retrieving data through an API
  • Develops and maintains automated email services and alerts for clients
  • Collaborates with cross-business teams to understand ideas to provide additional customer value
  • Develops solutions to automate internal process
  • Able to leverage workflows, code or scripting to solve a problem leveraging secure best practices
  • Develops testing procedures to ensure data reliability identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered
  • Communicates work product updates with business owners and clients
Skills & Technology:
  • Significant experience in the following
    • AWS
    • Kubernetes and Docker
    • Postgres
    • Python
    • SQL
    • Tableau or Quick sight
    • APIs
    • Git
  • Other Desired
    • Spark
    • Django or other web development frameworks
    • Salesforce
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent area of technical study (IT experience can substitute for a BS degree)
  • Previous experience administering cloud infrastructure
  • Previous experience building and maintaining APIs
