Job Title: CosmosDB / Postgres DBA

Location: Fort Worth, TX (50% Remote)

Project Duration: Long Term Contract

Short Description Database Administrator (DBA) contractor for staff augmentation purposes to help architect and manage its Azure-based CosmosDB and PostgreSQL database environments.\n50% onsite required

Complete Description The position will be responsible for on-going database administration of existing environments including defining, planning, implementing, and supporting Client’s cloud-based CosmosDB and PostgreSQL databases for the enterprise. Azure, CosmosDB and PostgreSQL experience is mandatory.

Required/Desired Skills Performs basic and intermediate level Database Administration tasks in Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL in Azure.Performs deployments and configurations of CosmosDB and PostgreSQL in Azure.Performs configuring Azure key vaults, service principles, etc.Performs backups, data recovery and data migration activities as needed.Participates in 24/7 on-call support.Designs and builds simple to complex database structures from data models.Experience in database problem identification, problem diagnosis and resolution.Interfaces with customers to gather requirements and provide production support.Performs cloud native application development.Provides subject matter expertise and reports to auditors as required.Identify and provide solutions to performance issues in multiple database environments.Understands cloud-base database technologies and guides Client in implementing appropriate solutions.Candidate has excellent communication – ability to explain a technical problem to various roles including management.Experience with CITUS extension for PostgreSQL HA clusters running in Azure.Coaches other team members on how to perform database administration in Azure CosmosDB and PostgreSQL technologies.Experience with data connectors between Azure PostgreSQL and on-prem services and systemsKnowledge in coding practices and cloud native application development and testing. Knowledge in GitHub repository technology.Functional experience in the development of railroad application systems
