JOB SUMMARYThe Cytotechnologist 1 performs screening of gynecological cytology specimens and renders an appropriate diagnosis, triages abnormal gynecologic cases to pathologists. Pre-screens non-gynecologic cytology cases for pathologist review. Participates in other quality control initiatives and assists as needed in a variety of laboratory functions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Completes screening and computer entry of diagnosis for gynecological and non-gynecological cases.
Participates in cytology departments quality assurance and quality control program.
Assists others in the laboratory as needed.
Contributes to the education of others and continues own education.
