- Provide support to users by installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting healthcare client's campus data and voice network infrastructure & services.
- Conduct small, formal training sessions with team members to expand knowledge and be a part of the leadership team to develop the direction and contribute to the continual service improvement efforts.
- Will focus on troubleshooting complex challenges, resolving data & voice network major alerts, and large tasks within projects.
- Troubleshoot, and replace networking equipment (i.e. switches, all voice gear-Avaya cabinets and associated hardware platforms, routers, wireless access points, etc. and network cabling and connectors infrastructure (copper, fiber, and others) for data and voice networks inside offices, within buildings, between buildings, and at remote sites.
- Correctly records all changes, including the proper adjustment of monitoring tools and notifications.
- React to occurrences like system restarts, outages, and intricate notifications.
- Oversee routine significant maintenance tasks such service expansion, redundancy testing, and equipment replacement.
- Network IT System Support and Self-Development Management: Observe both public and private work queues, promptly resolve incidents and service requests or escalate them, performing both big and little sets of network connectivity transfers, additions, and changes (MACs) on the current networking architecture, and documenting any modifications.
- Assists all IT Support Technicians with escalation.
- Accurately documents all installs and changes to maintain accurate cabling (copper, fiber, and other) records and network equipment inventory.
- This position involves overseeing vendors for hardware, service providers, and infrastructure cabling.
- Develop and update procedures for infrastructure, hardware deployments, services and inventory management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be local to Houston, TX and open to working 100% Onsite near Downtown Houston, TX/Medical Center.
- Education: Bachelors degree is required.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years experience in personal computer operating system and business application software systems, to include five years in systems related to those in use by the institution.
- Highly Preferred Experience: Required experience + experience with outside plant cabling standards, and knowledge of standards and practices involved with different types of buildings and the methods used to penetrate and install wiring, to include all horizontal and vertical wiring.
- Highly Preferred Certification: One of the certs are following is extremely preferred - BICSI ITS Installer II Copper/Fiber; BICSI ITS Technician; BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD); CompTIA Network+; Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT).
