We have been retained by our client in Houston, Texas to deliver a

Data Architect on a

contract basis. This team is experiencing growth and this big data practice is evolving/improving quickly. We are seeking a data architect to design data frameworks, data lakes, and a data lakehouse. Architecture, design, and development opportunities for growth exist here, including data model design, data lakehouse design, data platform tuning, and data visualization as well as master data management. Apache Iceberg, or other data lake formats. Delta Lake. PL/SQL, TSQL, MDM.

Data Architect with passion for design and architecture of data frameworks, data lakes and data lakehouses.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business scenarios and translate into data flows and data models
  • Advise on data interactions and data interdependencies between business functions and applications and recommend solutions to common business problems
  • Develop and maintain conceptual and logical data models

  • Design and implement a Data Lakehouse solution which accurately reflects business operations

  • Assist with data platform performance tuning and physical data model support
  • Provide guidance in data visualizations and reporting efforts to ensure solutions are aligned to business objectives

Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of experience as a Data professional
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a

    Data Architect with experience in designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical

    data models
  • Experience in data management practices including data catalog, data lineage, and

    master data management
  • Experience in business analysis and defining business performance metrics
  • Experience in software development practices such as Design Principles and Patterns, Testing, CI/CD, and version control
  • Expert knowledge of

    ANSI SQL, PLSQL Oracle, and

    TSQL SQL Server
  • Experience in implementing a

    Data Lakehouse using

    Apache Iceberg or

    Delta Lake
  • Knowledgeable of common data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tibco Spotfire
  • Experience in presenting and explaining complex concepts to stakeholders

Employment Type: Contract

hourly, Full-Time M-F, 40 hours per week, flex schedule, onsite Houston.

Hourly Rate:
$65 111 /hour (w2 employment)

Location: Houston, Texas (central Houston area)
