The Data Developer II will be responsible for developing, supporting, and enhancing database programs and reports using the SQL platform. This senior position typically handles projects of a more complex nature and serves as a resource to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities: Serves as a senior resource to junior team members, assisting with questions, obstacles and issue resolution. Collaborates with program managers, team members and developers on specific project business objectives to determine database structural requirements. Partners with business owners to gather and determine business requirements; analyzes data to develop or update reports, stored procedures and databases solutions. Monitors database performance and tunes to maximize efficiency. Develops new and enhances existing database objects and packages to advance functionality and automation of systems. Competencies Required: Excellent customer service, problem solving, and communication skills with the ability to effectively identify and translate business user needs, and to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage timelines and prioritize workload in a high-pressure, results-oriented environment. Self-starter with the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment. Developed analytical and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy. Flexibility to provide after hours and weekend support on occasion to support business needs. Strong data analysis and mapping skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft database and reporting technologies and tools including Office, SharePoint, SQL Server Integration and Reporting Services and Management Studio, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server. Proficient with database performance monitoring and tuning to maximize efficiency. Knowledgeable in the development of new databases and enhancing existing database objects and packages to advance functionality and automation of systems. Minimum Qualifications/Experience: 5-7 years experience in a SQL Server development role required. Experience in developing new and enhancing existing database objects and packages to advance functionality and automation of systems required. 2+ years of experience monitoring database performance and tuning to maximize efficiency required. SQL Server Integration and Reporting Services experience required. Formal Education & Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred. Work Status: Full-Time. Supervisory Responsibility: None. Travel: No travel expected.
