- Fast-growing respected company in Houston, TX is looking for a Data Engineer/Architect to join their team to help design the data collection, storage/maintenance, and data access mechanisms to support their growing data requirements.
- Will bridge the gap b/w Data Science Group & Development.
- Need this person to advise and architect the best solutions for current datasets and execute that vision. They have a lot of data in their transactional DB that doesn't need to be there.
- Monitor & Maintain existing data infrastructure with keen oversight of ETL processes.
- Design, model, and develop data sets/databases.
- Query data and configure for use in relational databases, debug issues with automated data flows/ETL processes, conduct investigations on new products.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Enthusiasm for sports and live events.
- Open to working onsite 2-days a week.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Technical background in statistics, computer science, math, engineering or other.
- Strong grasp of Azure tech stack or similar.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in data engineering/data management/data strategy, and programming in C# or other OOP language, as well as development experience with MS SQL Server or MySQL.
- Experience with SQL, R/Python, and demonstrated familiarity with code & programming concepts, collecting data points on various distributed platforms, and performance optimizations at database & application level.
- •Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; agility in a high-paced work environment.
- Effective communication tactics for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Data visualization and big data experience is a huge plus.
- Kubernetes, Kafka & Azure data lakes are a plus as well.
