Job Description:

Title: Data Modeler

Location: Richardson/Irving, TX

Duration: 11+ Months

Remote until COVID

Roles & Responsibilities:• Collect, analyze, and synthesize complex information from disparate sources into a single reporting view/data layer using SQL or similar tools. Summarize results and present findings to our non-analytic audiences• Conduct analyses of data, ranging from descriptive ad-hoc analyses to in-depth investigations of healthcare utilization trends/outcomes and prepare data summarization presentation for review by leadership team and key stakeholders• Design/model as applicable the data conformance, consumption, delivery and semantic layer, test, validate and present to analytical, reporting and other consumption teams.• Design/develop data security model, views, tables for specific business use cases.• Work with Data Governance, Data Stewards and other stake holders, seek required approvals on solutions.• Provide architecture and solutioning help in large scale distributed systems, especially those involving Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases and analytical programming languages (Python/R).• Contribute during the design workshops on Hadoop based data management and job flows• Manage customer expectations through effective communication of timely status updates.• Take ownership of own work as well as teams and be accountable for the quality of work done.• Work with PMO, Business and IT stake holders on multiple projects/programs and large initiatives• Explore new technologies in the big data and cloud domain.• Design highly scalable and extensible data platform including but not limited to RDBMS / Big Data / Cloud which enables industrializing collection, storage, modeling, and analysis of massive data sets from heterogeneous channels• Manage and addressing operational data issues by establishing workarounds and/or bringing in cross functional teams to solve the issues in timely manner.

Required Qualifications: • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in architecture, design or development of enterprise applications and integration• 3+ years’ experience in big data/cloud application development and implementation.• In depth understanding of BI and Analytics Solution Architecture• Strong knowledge of SQL (using Teradata or Oracle, SQL Server), Python/R• Strong knowledge of architecture and design patterns and the ability to apply them• Strong knowledge in at least one solution and data modeling tools (preferably Erwin), IBM Information Data Architect, Sybase Power Designer, Embacardo.• Good understanding to any Reporting/Analytics tools like Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos or Microstrategy.• Understanding of IT security and compliance remediation activities.• 3+ years of experience working on healthcare domain data.• Ability to put together solutions, conceptual, logical, physical data models for complex applications.• Experience in working with Data Governance, Data Stewards team.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Exhibit leadership behavior which supports the business and technology goals through creative thinking and strong problem management• Ability to handle multiple competing tasks in an ordered manner, prioritizing to ensure business deliverables are met.
