Organization & Department OverviewThe ICG Chief Data Office (CDO) is critical to managing a Major Global Bankgroup's businesses and to meet numerous regulatory and management reporting requirements. The ICG CDO under the ICG Technology Data transformation, partners with a Major Global Bank group's Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO), ICG businesses and operations, as well as Global Functions including Finance, Risk, and Compliance in an enterprise-wide data quality management discipline continuously striving to improve, monitor, measure, and control data quality. This team's remit also includes delivering project management, business analysis, and strategic planning services leading to improved controls and efficiencies in infrastructure and operational processes.The ICG CDO is responsible for planning, implementation, communications, training, compliance monitoring, and establishment of a Major Global Bankgroup's Controlled Data Management Environment supporting our Enterprise Information Assets.Role Summary: Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.Responsibilities:
- This function covers incumbents responsible for various data activities, which include data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and data remediation management for one or many ICG lines of business
- Responsible for following established guidelines and identifying and resolving problems
- Use some independence of thought but to refer more complex problems to supervisors or other experts
- Contribute to work flow or process change and redesign, and to form a basic understanding of the specific product or process
- Accountable for regular reporting or process administration as owner
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding a Major Global Bankgroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 5-8 years' experience with implementing data quality programs in a large global bank or Big Four consulting firm.
- Knowledge of the Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, Security & Issuer Services, Research, Reference, and Master Data.
- Experience with Data Quality and managing and resolving large amount of data quality issues for organizations such as Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, Security & Issuer Services, Research, Reference, and Master Data.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience in data stewardship and technical expertise in Client ICG technology or business
- Ability to give focused attention to details and deliver high quality work while managing competing priorities under pressure
- Bachelors/University degree, Master's degree preferred
