Database Administrator

Description We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our team in the Financial Services industry, based in McAllen, Texas. This role involves managing and maintaining database systems, optimizing performance, implementing security measures, and collaborating with development teams to align databases with business requirements.Responsibilities: Design and implement database systems, setting standards and policies to ensure consistency and efficacy Optimize database performance by conducting query tuning, indexing, and performance monitoring for efficient operations Implement and maintain robust data security measures including access controls, encryption protocols, and backup strategies to safeguard sensitive information Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support to users, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations Collaborate with development and application teams to align database systems with business requirements, promoting effective communication and coordination Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve database management processes Use skills in Database, EO/IR systems, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Backup Technologies, Cluster Analysis, Configuration Management, and Database Administration to effectively perform tasks and responsibilities. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in the Financial Services industry Demonstrable proficiency in using Database software Familiarity with EO/IR systems is a necessity Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL Server is required Practical experience using MySQL Knowledge of Backup Technologies is essential Competence in Cluster Analysis is a requirement Must demonstrate expertise in Configuration Management Comprehensive knowledge of Database Administration is a must Experience with Design controls is necessary Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
