Job Title:
Database EngineerLocation: Candidate MUST be located at Dallas Fort Worth Texas OR Greater Atlanta, GA. This will be a remote position with partial travel onsite if required.Type of Hire: Contract to Hire Work Authorization: Those who can join directly after their contract. No H1 Transfer will be done. Job Description: The Database Administration team members at install, monitor, maintain and performance tune production and non-production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. We develop, implement and continually review database policies and procedures to ensure the security, integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying applications. The Database Engineer will maintain and deploy databases that meet the standard for security, performance and HA/DR, monitor database performance and troubleshoot database issues. They will also install and configure database software, consult with development teams on SQL and application design and works with the Systems team on database infrastructure tasks.Responsibilities:· Build, administer, maintain and support multiple instances of MS SQL Server 2008 thru 2014 and Oracle 11g. Ensure databases are functioning at the highest level to ensure applications availability.- Lead escalated Tier 2-3 (moderate to high) database issues/needs through resolution/completion. Ensure quality RCAs as needed, and address assigned remediation
- Deploy and maintain database backup and recovery processes and HA/DR requirements based on standards. Lead database activities with DR/BC events or
- Proactively manage the performance and stability of all production and internal database infrastructure. Perform moderate to high complexity performance
- Create and maintain moderate to high written procedures for team
- Independently work enterprise projects or infrastructure
- Develop moderate to high complexity scripts for database monitoring and to automate routine tasks using scripting languages like
- Plan, test and install moderate to high complexity upgrades/patches and database Support and implement DB technology roadmaps.
