Diesel Mechanic

Southwest is a fast-growing, reliable trucking company committed to safety, excellence, and the highest standards of vehicle performance. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Level 3 Mechanic to join our maintenance team.

Position Summary:

As a Level 3 Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of our fleet of heavy-duty trucks. This role requires a deep understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems. You’ll work with a team in a fast-paced environment where precision and efficiency are key.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems.

Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and services

Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot system issues

Ensure repairs are completed according to manufacturer specifications and safety regulations

Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used

Mentor and assist lower-level mechanics as needed

Ensure shop cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel/heavy truck mechanic

Level 3 certification or equivalent experience

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite)

Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals

Must have own tools

Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or emergency call-ins
