About this Opportunity
  • Proactively lead and support efforts to identify and mitigate risk, within assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with business partners and risk control functions
  • Develop, communicate and ensure adherence to department risk policies, procedures and standard methodologies
  • Reassess existing processes and build new ones that most effectively anticipate, lead and reduce risk to DTCC and its participants
  • Nurture an environment of regulatory awareness and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrate and embed the behaviors and proficiencies that build a risk management mentality in your organization
  • Support ongoing staff education and mentor and develop team members on effective risk management
  • Lead issues and actions and supervises timely completion
  • rives sustainability reviews of issues
  • Advises and periodically reviews reporting of the inherent and residual risk landscape and control environment (i.e., Risk Profile) with partners
  • Advises and challenges the acceptance of risks
  • Contributes to, reviews, and validates the accuracy of risk assessments conducted by the second line of defense (New Initiatives, Third Party Risk, OTR, Compliance)
  • Supervises regulatory requirements
  • Supports regulatory response
  • Serves as audit liaison
  • Support reviews of initiative portfolio risks with collaborators and New Initiatives Office
  • Leads risk incidents and remediation, and supervises trends

Sound Like You?
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technology background
  • Proven track record to supervise and direct a team within an IT risk function that serves as a decision-making tool for management
  • Demonstrated ability to work pro-actively with management and staff
  • Highly motivated, diligent, self-starter, who can set priorities, take initiative and work both independently and proactively in a dynamic team environment
  • Work under pressure, multitask and be flexible
  • Ability/willingness to meet bold deadlines and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a highly developed customer service orientation, and work optimally with all levels of internal staff, and external contacts
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Knowledge of the security markets, post-trade processing and clearing and settlement infrastructure preferred
