The Health & Wellness/Pharmacy Engineering team supports the entire technology needs across our pharmacies, pharmacists & our customers. We are looking for a passionate individual who can inspire and lead a team of software developers to build an engaging consumer experiences across web and mobile platform.

The Health & Wellness/Pharmacy Engineering Department has an opening for a Director of Software Engineering, Health & Wellness Customer Experience. This position is located in Plano, TX.

Position Purpose Help to build Albertsons next generation health and wellness customer experience and deliver on a multi-year roadmap that delivers new and transformational wellness experiences that is integrated in our grocery business. The right candidate will be interested in re-imagining the pharmacy experience by harnessing the power of digital technologies. He or she would work closely with Product, Agency, Business, UX, Data teams build, enhance and continuously improve the experience for Albertsons' customers.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Be customer obsessed and create the best-in-class application experience that touches their everyday lives
  • Direct and manage end to end software development through all stages of the lifecycle for consumer facing mobile apps and websites.
  • Build constructive business relationships with senior business stakeholders and ensure seamless delivery of applications.
  • Identify vision, objectives and cost benefit of technology initiatives.
  • Identify risks and issues associated with initiatives.
  • Define project scope, deliverables and roles and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders and business partners.
  • Identify skill set requirements and roles and responsibilities of the engineering team.
  • Recruit and mentor talent in the engineering team.
  • Provide guidance on mobile technology trends and future directions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation in the team and encourage creative solutions
  • Use Agile SCRUM to deliver solutions with high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Assign and monitor work of technical personnel and ensure alignment with business objectives from timeliness and budget perspectives.
  • Get stakeholder approval and commitment on delivery plan.
  • Plan budgets for equipment, resources and vendors.
  • Develop a communications plan to update stakeholders of the progress of work.

Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
  • 7+ years' experience in building and managing high performance teams
  • Deep knowledge of building consumer facing mobile and web applications
  • Well versed with building and growing iOS and Android native applications.
  • Well versed in web frameworks like Angular and React.
  • Well versed in digital technology trends including but not limited to micro-services, No-SQL databases, event management and asynchronous transactions.
  • Well versed in CI/CD frameworks and ensuring predictable software delivery
  • Good understanding of UX best practices
  • Strong skills in project planning, budget estimation and management, resource planning and assessment, financial planning and risk assessment.
  • Strong experience with Agile.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong expectation management, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across various groups, build relationships and manage effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Strong ability to motivate teams and coach and train a highly technical team.
  • Knowledge with implementing applications on the cloud infrastructure.
  • Innovative, out-of-the-box thinker and willingness to push the envelope with creative solutions.
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives.

Desired:
  • Exposure in Healthcare or Pharmacy systems with significant understanding of pharmacy security compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR, GxP etc.) & integration standards (e.g., HL, GS1 etc.)
  • Exposure in the following products or similar systems: PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System, Toshiba POS, adheres, supplylogix.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
