Dispatcher - Austin

The Dispatcher reports to the Logistics Manager and is responsible for ensuring that all work assignments and collections are performed in accordance with policies and standards. This position works closely with supervisors to prepare and manage driver work schedules to ensure compliance with DOT regulations, make sure daily assignments are completed and that schedule inconsistencies are reported to supervisors in a timely manner.

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of customer service and/or waste industry experience;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to use common office equipment – i.e. phones, radio systems;

Proficiency with using internet mapping programs;

Ability to achieve proficiency with all data management software and applications utilized for dispatch processes;

Must have basic math skills;

Ability to achieve proficiency with IPak, Routeware and all other software used by TDS dispatchers;

Ability to effectively and fluently communicate in English in both written and verbal form;

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format;

Problem-solving ability;

Knowledge of trucks and equipment used at TDS; and

Knowledge of safety practices, accident management and commercial driver’s license regulations.
