GameStop's Enterprise Information Management (EIM) Product Management Team is looking for a data-centric Associate Product Manager. The EIM Associate Product Manager provides key support in fulfilling data needs from multiple departments and stakeholders across GameStop's entire organization.

As an Associate Product Manager on the EIM product data team, you'll be heavily partnered in assisting senior level Product Managers with fulfilling data request. You'll be highly interactive with both business stakeholders and software development teams to drive the delivery of our BI data platforms. You should possess both strong communication and soft skills, yet be dynamic and polished enough to navigate both the business and technical realms of the organization.

The person in this role should thrive in a fast-past environment and have strong self-organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with product peers, business stakeholders, and software development team(s) to carry out data requests
  • Partner closely with senior level Product Managers to assist in contributing to product vision, gathering of requirements, and prioritization of business initiatives
  • Build and foster relationships with product peers, stakeholders, and dev teams
  • Communicate, follow-up, and ensure alignment with senior Product Managers and stakeholders by actively touching base and proactively providing updates of data delivery requests and initiatives
  • Develop subject matter expertise for a functional area, including:
    • Foster strong partnerships with both the business and technical teams that support the functional area
    • Understand the business processes for the functional area
    • Develop an understanding of the front and back-end systems that support the functional area's business processes
  • Communicate ongoing risks, scope trade-offs, and timeline impacts to necessary parties
  • Help manage dependencies in and across sprints and releases
  • Manage and prioritize team backlog
  • Translate business requirements into user stories and clear acceptance criteria
  • Validate the completion of acceptance criteria by the development team
  • Facilitate Agile/Scrum events (Daily standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, etc. )
  • Create release notes
  • Embody a product mindset mentality and transform business initiatives into value

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent work experience required
  • 3+ years of related Product Owner/Product Management experience
  • 2+ years of direct Agile/Scrum methodology experience
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills are a must
  • Proficient using Altassian Confluence/JIRA as an agile software development tool, or similar tool such as Azure DevOps
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in both spoken and written form
  • Possess advanced analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to evaluate existing or proposed new solutions for potential flaws or improvement opportunities
  • Ability to utilize presentation methods or tools to convey various business or technical objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational dynamics of a large organization
  • Experience in requirements gathering and user story writing
