QualificationsAbout the OpportunityLooking for a Controls / Firmware Engineer that will support the design, development and deployment of electric vehicles and supporting systems for the mobile service industries. The successful candidate will first be involved in the design, integration, test, and validation of new all electric low speed vehicle. The position will involve a challenging mix of firmware development for vehicle control systems such as drivetrain, driver controls, communication, diagnostics, and infotainment. The roll will include testing and system verification and validation for certification and product release. The role also involves coordination of design activities with our partners and vendors.You will need vehicle embedded system engineering and development experience, including programming experience. You will work cross-functionally between engineering, operations, quality assurance and customer programs to bring innovative systems to life. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or similar discipline
- 3 or more years of experience in vehicle embedded system development
- Programming experience, primarily in support of vehicle controls
- Experience performing vehicle system integration, testing and validation in different environments
- Bench testing, Software-in-the-loop and Hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Experience with data acquisition systems, CAN and J1939 communication protocols
- Familiarity with FMEA, DOE, V&V, DVP&R, etc.
- Experience working with and testing electric vehicles.
- Knowledge in control systems design, experience with Matlab/Simulink
- Experience with New Eagle Raptor for vehicle controller and software development
- Software design and programming skills for embedded systems
- MS in Computer Engineering with focus on Transportation, powertrain, etc.
- Familiarity with FMEA, DOE, V&V, DVP&R, etc.
- Familiarity with FMVSS, SAE and ISO standards, ISO 26262
