Genuent is hiring an Electronics Technician for our direct client in Austin , TX. This is a direct-hire position with an immediate start date. Qualified candidates should send their resume (Word format) to Erica Shackleton at This position is responsible for mechanical design of both sensor packages and fixturing for manufacturing of sensors; additionally, this role will directly support production through hands-on work, development of standard operating procedures, and coordination with contract manufacturers. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Parts acquisition and BOM Management
  • Assembly of printed circuit boards (PCB) in a manufacturing environment
  • Testing and verification of assembled boards
  • Inventory tracking of parts and assembled PCBs
  • Analyze and interpret test yield data and report trends and weaknesses.
  • Troubleshoot using a systematic approach and repair electronic components, PCBs, assemblies etc.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics technology
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as an electronics technician working hands-on in a shop environment
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in soldering
  • Experience reading and understanding electronics schematics
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronics evaluation tools
  • Experience in advanced circuit troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair
  • Experience using ECAD software (Autodesk EagleCAD)
  • First principles approach to problem solving
  • Able to perform work while looking through a microscope
Additional qualifications:
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of optics, photonics, lasers, and light
  • Experience working within Six Sigma framework (or equivalent)
  • Strong technical communicator, able to convey complicated topics to a naive audience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Background working in an ISO 9001 environment or other Quality Management System
  • Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with vendors to manage orders, contracts, etc.
