We have been retained by our client in Dallas, Texas (Coppell, Texas) to deliver an Embedded Software Engineer on a regular full-time, direct-hire basis, working hybrid in Dallas. Excellent technical leadership, and technical vision in place.The Software Engineers role is a hands-on, interactive role in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include the design and implementation of new applications and features for a new product and existing products, as well as porting code existing from one Operating System to C on Linux embedded. Some of the Software Engineers responsibilities will include collaborating with stakeholders, integrating with current applications, and delivering robust, efficient, scalable, and maintainable C/C code. This is a newly created position due to expansion into newer technologies.
- Analyzing requirements and defining implementation details.
- Delivering code that meets the design specification and fits nicely with what may already be in place.
- Designing new APIs to integrate existing applications into a new product.
- Responsible for regular communication with others involved in the development process.
- Implement, test, and bug-fix functionality.
- Solving problems at all stages of the project life cycle.
- 5-8+ years of experience working with C / C on Linux / unix
- Strengths include Linux embedded applications development utilizing C/C on Linux.
- Recent embedded C Linux experience required.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems and programming systems that access and control hardware running C Linux.
- Experience with multi-threaded application development.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong technical background, analytical mindset, and great problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience with software design and OOP methodologies.
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or related degrees.
- 5-10+ years of experience with C Linux Embedded
- Experience porting code to C Linux embedded.
- Windows CE
- This position is hybrid.
- Candidate must reside in the Dallas, TX Fort Worth, TX area at start date.
