We are looking for an Endpoint Patching Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity in Austin, TX. You will be responsible for patch management and deployment of updates to endpoints. This position will be responsible for the management of on-premise and cloud based patching and deployment systems, using native tools as well as PowerShell methods. This role will also provide tier 3 and engineering daily support and administration of an SCCM infrastructure. This role will be responsible for providing deployment, configuration, and support of desktop technologies in a distributed environment.

Position can be remote in Texas or Outside of Texas- if within 50 miles of Austin then 1-2 days a week will be required

SCCM Imaging and Patching Experience is a key skill for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage software distribution including Microsoft Security upgrades and standard desktop software on global basis. Prioritize and coordinate security patch and software testing schedules and distributions.
  • Create packages, collections, and advertisements for distributions.
  • Create custom reports and dashboards for use in planning corporate hardware and software requirements.
  • Work with corporate security to identify and remediate areas of workstation risks.
  • Provide 3rd level support for the SCCM infrastructure and standard desktop software.
  • Meet with internal clients to assess needs, identify key challenges, and define project scope and deliverables for software application deliveries.
  • Investigate and solve issues with Configuration Manager Client on endpoints.
  • Troubleshoot and correct SCCM client and distribution point errors.
  • Troubleshoot failed SCCM deployments and SCCM health issues
  • Administer the SCCM tool set back end to keep the system running and healthy, including changes to the core components and settings, software delivery, client heath, reporting, boundaries, and bandwidth settings
  • Manage and administer SCCM client health, including the process of getting clients healthy.

You:
  • 1+ year Experience in SCCM, Microsoft Intune, WSUS
  • 1+ year experience with Operating Systems Concepts – Active Directory, Security, OS Internals
  • 1+ years with Networking concepts – DNS, protocols, Devices
  • 1+ years with Strong communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills; excellent customer service and support skills required
  • 1+ years knowledge and/or prior experience with standard software package and patch deployment methodologies, adhering to standard change control processes within large size corporations.
  • ITIL Change Management experience is a plus
