This individual will be responsible for the development and the implementation of predictive, preventative and maintenance strategies, procedures, and processes from completion through operations for the entire life of the assets. This individual will support and review all outages and critical operational events by providing technical expertise during event, and performing root cause analysis after the event, and if necessary adjusting standards, specifications, maintenance, processes, procedures, and systems as a result of lessons learned from the event. For all the Customer Centricity Organization Business Operations group assets, this individual will be responsible for the Asset Management and Maintenance plans while continuously improving asset performance, extending asset life, lowering cost, and improving the customer experience.Job Summary:The Senior Lead Engineer of Business Operations will ensure the and implementation of technical standards, specifications, maintenance, and maintenance processes and procedures to ensure the assets are operated, monitored, controlled, and maintained to maximize operations to meet Customer, Entergy, and MISO expectations. This individual will be responsible for the development and the implementation of predictive, preventative and maintenance strategies, procedures, and processes for the entire life of the assets. The Senior Lead Engineer will ensure the assets are operated, maintained, monitored, controlled, analyzed, and modified to maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency to meet safety, quality, customer satisfaction, operations, and financial objectives. For all assets, this individual will be responsible for the Asset Management and Maintenance plans while continuously improving asset performance, extending asset life, lowering cost, and improving the customer experience.Job Duties/Responsibilities

Provide support of maintenance, operations, monitoring, alarms, controls and equipment standards, specifications, processes, and procedures for all the Customer Centricity Organization Business Operations group assets including but not limited to generators, transfer switches, primary and secondary cables, transformers, utility interconnection, relays, controls, and communication systems.

Lead development and implementation of Entergy Power Through Asset Management, Corrective, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance strategies, processes, procedures, and systems to ensure the assets provide customer service and operations throughout the life of the assets.

Support Outage restoration by review of sequence of event data and all available and relevant data to support returning equipment to service for customer backup generator support and MISO dispatch operations.

Lead Root Cause Analysis of all Outage Restoration and Operational Performance Events including but not limited to failure to start, equipment failure and human performance events. Develop and ensure implementation of Corrective Action Items from the Root Cause to improve the product, operations, and customer service.

Additional Responsibilities for this position will drive operational business results by working with the Customer Centricity Organization Business Operations group customers, leadership, employees, contractors, consultants, vendors, manufactures and cross functional teams across the enterprise to:

Support development and implementation of processes and solutions to ensure a seamless customer experience as it relates to, operations and asset management, maintenance, and financial and budget management of the Customer Centricity Organization Business Operations group products in all of Entergy’s operating companies.

Support development and implementation of Supply Chain processes to identify, evaluate, establish and managing strategic business alliances and contractual relationships with generator service maintenance providers in order to ensure safety and reliability for our customers, our environment and our communities.

Provides technical information concerning program performance requirements and bases, compliance status, and related industry operating experience to support site Engineering, Operations and Maintenance personnel.

Focuses on identifying potential problems through condition-based monitoring of program equipment and PM optimization through feedback from Maintenance personnel and component PM reviews.

Ensures engineering work is performed and programs are implemented on a fleet level consistent with defined standards.

Develops, plans, and coordinates special projects, corrective action plans, and improvement programs to address component problems or regulatory sensitive issues.

Supports Maintenance and Operations in component troubleshooting and provides component/discipline expertise for troubleshooting significant events or complex plant problems. Supports changes in assigned component configuration/design and associated design basis.

Serves on outage engineering support teams. Attends training and maintains qualifications necessary to perform required group functions. Ensures fleet lessons are learned and good practices implemented.

Supports Development and Achievement of Key Performance Indicators for Power Through Business Operations project development and execution around value realization of safety, customer satisfaction, cost and budget management. The key metrics, targets and other objectives of success used to measure job performance are:

Safety: Employees, customers, contractors, distribution through internal activities, installations, and continuing operations achieve safety performance goals (target zero).

Customer: Achieving and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through installation and continued operation

Financial: Growing the business in accordance with the business plan in terms of customer acquisition and annual earnings

Project Management: Support sustainable productive customer, contractor, and stakeholder relationships

Business and Product Development: Achieve the targeted operational goals by developing and sustaining cost effective Operational and Maintenance services by providing learnings from customers, vendors, Operating Companies, and regulators while continuing to satisfy the customer, providing grid value, and producing revenue results.

Work emergency or storm restoration in other areas as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMinimum education required of the position:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline four year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology (typically, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from a four year accredited institution with PE may be considered.

Preferred: Master’s in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or advanced degree in Business.

Minimum experience required of the position:

Engineer II: 2-4 years’ of related experience

Engineer III: 4-6 years’ of related experience

Engineer SR: 6-8 years’ of related experience

Engineer SR Lead: 10+ years’ experience in an engineering discipline. (8 yrs. w/ PE, PMP cert., and/or MS)

Preferred experience for the position:

8+ years of progressive experience in operations, engineering, construction, project management with specific experience in utility operations or related field

At least five years’ experience leading people and projects in a project, engineering, or construction management with proven track record of customer service excellence by delivering projects on-time and within budget.

Previous experience developing and improving processes, procedures and specifications used in project management, operations, and maintenance of electrical utility assets.

Cross-functional leadership experience preferred.

Experience working in a regulated utility performing engineering, construction, project or operations management of distribution, transmission, generation assets, products, and services.

Experience operating, maintaining, monitoring, and controlling natural gas generators ranging from 100kW-10MW,

Experience utilizing Maximo or equivalent Work Management System (WMS).

Experience utilizing Corrective Action Tracking Systems for Safety and Quality Corrections and Compliance.

Experience in the development, measurement, and management of KPIs, goals, and metrics.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the positionFunctional Knowledge: Requires functional understanding of concepts and principles within own discipline and knowledge of:

Electrical components including generators, transfer switches, transformers, relays, control, metering, customer, and utility electrical systems.

Natural gas generators and associated equipment, technologies, and applications

Business Expertise: Applies in-depth understanding of how own discipline integrates within the functional knowledge of:

Contract management processes such as bid, award, negotiation, invoice and change management control

Operational Management and ability to anticipate events and develop adaptive strategies and/or remedies.

Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational, and organizational problems.

Leadership: Ability to work collaboratively with Director, Sr Managers, Managers, Customers, Contracts and Cross Functional teams to set business objectives, strategies, and drive results.

Personal Skills:

Strong interpersonal, team building, communication, and leaderships skills.
