The Equipment Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the company’s trucking fleet, ensuring that all equipment inspection, maintenance, and compliance activities are executed efficiently and safely. This position is responsible for supporting drivers and dispatch teams while upholding operational standards and regulatory requirements. The Coordinator will develop and maintain a comprehensive Equipment Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair list, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules with both internal personnel and third-party service providers to ensure the fleet remains in optimal condition. In addition, the Coordinator works closely with drivers to ensure pre-trip and post-trip inspections are clearly understood and properly completed, providing guidance and support as needed. Maintaining and updating the Driver’s Manual and logbooks is an essential component of this role, as is collaborating with drivers and dispatchers to ensure all operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements. The Coordinator will also oversee the inventory of parts and equipment, monitoring stock levels, organizing storage, and ensuring that the yard remains safe, orderly, and well-maintained. Regular inspections of the yard and equipment are conducted to identify and resolve any safety or operational issues promptly. Strong administrative and technical skills are required to manage documentation related to equipment inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and compliance records. The Coordinator will generate reports, track maintenance histories, and ensure that all records meet company and legal standards. This role demands attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments. By ensuring that all fleet equipment is maintained to high standards and that drivers are supported with the resources and knowledge they need, the Equipment Coordinator contributes directly to the overall efficiency, safety, and success of the trucking operations.
