System Engineer

DUTIES:
  • Provide end-to-end client support from a broad-based IT background, with technical understanding of networks, protocols, security configurations, and identity and access management
  • Travel to 1-2 clients daily to resolve system and application performance issues
  • Communicate and solve problems with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Work in cloud-based technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and private cloud offerings
  • Utilize security best practices to deploy on-premises and cloud-based technology solutions
  • Configure and deploy multi-factor authentication systems, like Microsoft MFA and Cisco Duo
  • Provide hands-on experience with virtualization platforms, such as Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware vSphere
  • Install, configure, maintain, and monitor client server environments with an emphasis on Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019
  • Create and maintain internal and client facing documentation; work within a ticketing system
  • Be exposed to networking; troubleshoot common networking issues
  • Design, configure, maintain, and monitor WAN and VPN connections to remote divisions
  • Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Analyze company and user needs; recommend appropriate solutions

Qualifications:
  • 3 to 10 ten, years experience in a systems focused engineer role
  • 2+ years experience with exposure to network environments, both cloud and on-premise
  • MSP experience preferred
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, IIS, and Remote Desktop as well as Microsoft Exchange, both on-premises and Microsoft 365.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified, Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or Microsoft Azure Certification preferred
  • Willingness to earn technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university in Information Systems or Engineering preferred,

    but not necessary
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator or Professional (CCNA or CCNP) is a plus
  • MS-100 or MD-100 certified is a plus
  • ConnectWise Manage ticketing experience is a plus
