The pay range per hour is $19.62 - $35.29Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. Servicing the transportation out of that huge distributed network and high volumes means a simultaneous microscopic attention to day to day detail as well as the ability to step back think strategically in order to drive change within Target and with our carriers to fully leverage our Stores as Hubs strategy and provide maximum Best in Class Guest Experience.A Fleet Technician plays a vital role in the efficient and timely management of transportation operations. Your primary responsibility will include On-Time-Delivery of loads to vendors and stores, dispatching drivers, monitoring shipments, and solving problems quickly. You will be a key point of contact between drivers and stores, ensuring smooth communication and problem solving to meet the fleet’s delivery needs. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, to include Distribution leadership, Carrier Partners, Assets Protection, Logistics Leaders, and HQ teams to identify gaps in processes and drive optimization through the development of tools and automation within the yard operation. And your commitment to others will shine when you jump right in to help teams meet their business goals to ensure a high level of service, maximizing efficiencies and serving as a change agent to champion continuous improvement and do what is best for the guest.Responsibilities:

Driver Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers. Provide support to drivers, including instructions for pickup and delivery, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their compliance with company policies. Manage drivers home time schedule and missed workdays.

HOS monitoring and support: Monitor drivers’ Hours of Service. HOS utilization efficiency. Preventing actions to avoid violations.

Track and Trace: Monitor the progress of shipments and communicate with drivers regularly to ensure on-time delivery. Provide real-time updates to the management and address any issues that may arise.

Route Optimization: Use routing software and real-time data to plan the most efficient routes, considering factors like expensive tolls, traffic, weather, and road conditions.

Customer Communication: Provide customers with all requested paperwork and shipment status. Address any concerns or delays that may arise. Maintain a high level of customer service.

Problem Resolution: Quickly and effectively resolve any operational issues, mechanical problems, or other unforeseen challenges. Collaborate with drivers and internal teams to find solutions.

Manage a team of drivers encompassing part of the dispatch board

Responsible for assigning pickups and deliveries and service all customers in a specific geographic area

Ensure operational compliance regarding overall pick up and delivery performance

Champion driver retention and customer issues with the ability to resolve issues quickly and communicate effectively.

Proven experience in dispatching, routing, and logistics operations.

Experience with transportation planning and supply chain management.

Strong communication skills.

Proficiency in logistics software and tools.

Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.

Strong customer relationship management.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with GPS, GIS, and transportation management systems.

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
